And, We're Off!

Today is the big day! We leave tonight from LAX at 10:50. We will fly for 14.5 hours to Tawain change planes, then we fly another 3 hours to Cambodia. Please pray that the plane doesn't fall from the sky (this is Kacie talking... I don't like to fly).

We truly appreciate all of the phone calls and emails of well wishes. It means so much to us. Thank you!

Strangely enough, we are feeling calm about the trip and we are just plain excited! It will be fun to see what God has in store for us.

We will post as soon as we can once we arrive.

Happy 2009!

Love,
Kacie for the Van Winkles

  1. Enjoy your flight. It could be a long night. Emily, the girls and I just returned from Manila on Sunday, and we also took a 14+ hour flight to Taipei. The good thing is it is only 10+ hour from Taipei to LAX on the way home. Best wishes and good luck.

  2. May God use you all to richly bless all who come in contact with you. What an amazing role model you are for all of us. Please give them hugs from us. Can't wait to see more updates.

  3. Welcome to Cambodia! I know you will be a rich fulfillment of many hopes and dreams as you minister. We are praying for health, for Him to identify the orphanage He has earmarked, for the workers and the children who need the most focus to clearly stand out to you, that their needs would be known to you and that provision would be given to you to give to them. May you find rest, sleep, nutrition and peace as you travel. May Trent, Diana and Taliah receive an anointing from the Holy Spirit, a calling of their very own as they watch Mom and Dad fulfill their callings. Light a great fire beneath your wings as you soar in service. Faint not, nor grow weary, but fly on the wings of an eagle as you move forward toward the prize He has. Run with faith. We love you so much. Our prayers are not ceasing for you and our hearts are with you.
